Rangarang, Rangoli Utsava, 48th BGU - 2010



The 48th year of Bengaluru Ganesha Utsava brought Rangoli back into the limelight with the Rangarang competition, showcasing the artistic talents of hundreds of women. Vibrant designs adorned the streets, transforming Bengaluru into a living canvas of culture and tradition. Thousands of spectators thronged to witness this colorful celebration.
- First Phase: 8 September 2010 at APS College Grounds with 556 participants
- Second Phase: 19 September 2010 at DVG Road, featuring the final round with 100 participants

Rangarang, Rangoli Utsava, 50th BGU - 2012
Marking its golden jubilee, Bengaluru Ganesha Utsava celebrated Rangoli with grandeur through the Rangarang competition. Streets of Malleshwaram and Commercial Street were closed to host the event, where participants showcased their creativity to captivated audiences. The program highlighted the community's love for the traditional art form.

The Giant Laddu - 50th BGU - 2012
A spectacular attraction of the Bengaluru Ganesha Utsava, the 6000 kg Giant Laddu left an unforgettable impression on devotees. Prepared with immense dedication and effort, it became a symbol of devotion and celebration, drawing thousands to witness its grandeur.
- Ingredients: 1500 kg chickpeas, 1700 kg ghee, 500 kg dry grapes, 2400 kg sugar
- Effort: Crafted by over 100 skilled individuals
- Distribution: Served as Prasada to devotees at the festival's conclusion
30-Foot Sand Ganesha - 50th BGU, 2012
A majestic 30-foot-tall Sand Ganesha idol, accompanied by idols of Shiva and Parvati, was the centerpiece of the Utsava near the Mallikarjuna Temple, Basavanagudi. Crafted by skilled artisans from Orissa, the stunning creation drew thousands of devotees daily for darshan, leaving a lasting impression of devotion and artistry.

Honoring Karnatak Music Maestros - 55th BGU, 2017
During the 55th Bengaluru Ganesha Utsava, the Sangha reaffirmed its role as a patron of the arts by honoring 50 senior exponents of Karnatak music for their exceptional contributions. The event was graced by the presence of Sri Yaduveera Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wodeyar, Maharaja of Mysore, who personally felicitated the artists, making the occasion truly memorable.

Clay Seed Ganesha Making - 57th BGU, 2019 & 60th BGU, 2022
The 57th Bengaluru Ganesha Utsava marked the beginning of a new wave by promoting eco-friendly seed-filled clay Ganesha idols. This initiative united people through devotion and culture while adding environmental conservation to the festival's agenda. Thousands participated in crafting over 3000 seed-filled clay Ganeshas, setting a Guinness World Record and leaving a lasting impact. The tradition continued with even greater enthusiasm during the 60th Utsava, where the previous record was broken by creating an even larger number of Ganesha idols. This achievement reaffirmed Bengaluru Ganesha Utsava's dedication to sustainability and community participation.
